Size: 750ML Proof: 90 (45% ABV) Origin: United States Distillery: Great Lakes Distillery "Lakefront delivers its Pumpkin Lager as a completed beer and we take it from there," says Rehorst. At his 3,500 square foot distillery in Milwaukee, Rehorst carefully distills Great Lakes Pumpkin Spirit from Lakefront Pumpkin Lager. "We were pleasantly surprised by how much pumpkin flavor"is retained from the lager, he says. After distillation, Rehorst ages Great Lakes Pumpkin Spirit in used bourbon casks. The casks round out the flavor of the spirit, and add slight hints of vanilla and caramel. After aging, Rehorst fills and numbers each bottle of Great Lakes Pumpkin Spirit by hand before sealing it with orange pumpkin wax. "We think it's the perfect spirit for the cool fall weather ahead." Great Lakes Pumpkin Spirit Tasting Notes Nose: Abundant pumpkin aroma, with hints of cinnamon and nutmeg. Palate: Dry malt, together with pumpkin and toffee. Finish: Smooth, with a hint of vanilla. Distillery Information Great Lakes Distillery is Wisconsin's first distillery to open since prohibition. Nearly two centuries later, Lakefront Brewery owner Russ Klisch was reading a dusty brewing tome and discovered a recipe that Jefferson had used to brew pumpkin beer. Klisch seized the recipe and the opportunity immediately and created Lakefront Pumpkin Lager — the only pumpkin lager made anywhere in the world. Made with real pumpkins and a blend of proprietary spices including cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves, Klisch brews Lakefront Pumpkin Lager for a full four weeks. The extra brewing time gives Lakefront Pumpkin Lager a frothy entry and a deep, smooth richness. The lager's notes of cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom and nutty toast intensify when Guy Rehorst, Great Lakes Distillery's master distiller, takes over.

They have the distinction of being the first craft distillery in the state of Illinois... how they got past all the regulatory and bureaucratic hurdles in that state is a feat in and of itself. North Shore spirits are made in their German-made copper pot still Ethel, which has a distinctive flare for a signature taste. In 2013, to celebrate their success they expanded their distillery to include a tasting room and outdoor summer seating for cocktails. Here at Proof66, we had the opportunity to personally meet the North Shore Distillery team.

Aged in French oak, vanilla and toasted hazelnut notes complement the velvety tannins, bringing a rich, voluptuous mid-palate that extends out into a silky finish. Reviews: Jeb Dunnuck: The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Chateau Buena Vista is more fresh and focused, with more sappy herbs, violets, mint, and both red and black fruits. It’s not green, yet it certainly has more herbal notes as well as medium to full-bodied richness, ripe tannins, and terrific balance. It should keep for 15 years. Unfortunately, it’s made in tiny quantities. James Suckling: Lovely nose of blueberries, currants, hazelnuts and mint chocolate. I like the texture of the tannins, which are plush and smooth, melting into the wine. Full-bodied, creamy and already delicious. Producer: Dearden Wine Vintage: NV Size: 750ml Varietal: Chardonnay Country/Region: United States, California Rich, ripe and unctuous with apple pie a la mode, toasted oak, with a long, creamy finish it is mouth filling, delicious and has a pot de crème character that lends itself to Dungeness Crab, Brie and Sourdough. Producer Information Owner-Winemaker Chris Dearden found his first introduction to wine as many of us do: around the dinner table amongst family and friends. Raised in an agricultural town in the Central Valley of California, Dearden was always able to draw a correlation between the treatment of land and the quality of the product. He has carried this value and strong connection to farming throughout his career. Chris attended UC Davis for his bachelors in science, writing his own major as Viticulture, Enology and Winery Operations; he would continue on to UC Berkeley HAAS School of Business to earn his Masters in Business Administration. Over the years, Dearden has worn many hats, working his way from winemaker to winemaker/general manager, consulting winemaker to now achieving his lifelong goal of owning his own vineyard and winery. His aim is to work with vineyards and growers with a shared vision: nurture the lands we occupy to maximize quality and site specific terroir while nurturing the long term relationships between grower and winemaker. Dearden cites his time working with cooperage Seguin Moreau as most influential on his winemaking style and abilities; working in tandem with first growths and grand crus allowed for an unobstructed view of the highest level of winemaking possible. Yearning to produce wine again, he began a fourteen-year journey developing a Napa Valley winery from the ground up. He established the vineyard, brand, wine style and identity. During this period, he also developed the North American branch of the highly respected Gamba Cooperage, Costa Del Sol Consulting Company, luxury wine brands Chanticleer and Sleeping Giant, and a premium Pinot noir vineyard estate in the Carneros district of Napa Valley, which is a cornerstone of Chris’s great wines today.
