Producer: Kapcsándy Family Winery Ratings: WA 93 WS 92 Vintage: 2009 Size: 1.5L ABV: 14.2% Varietal: Cabernet Sauvignon Country/Region: United States, California The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Cuvée is pure, seamless and totally beautiful. Hints of chocolate, cloves and gingerbread appear on the nose, followed by rich, deep layers of fruit. There is a baritone-like expression in the 2009 that is striking. Sweet floral notes appear later, adding lift, vibrancy and freshness. Reviews: Wine Advocate: Made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Cuvee State Lane Vineyard spent 20 months in 100% French oak, and like all the Kapcsandy dry reds came in under 14% alcohol, in this case, 13.5%. A true synthesis between Napa Valley’s bold and exuberant richness and the more subtle elegance of France, this wine exhibits a deep ruby/plum color, hints of white chocolate, black currants, and bouquet garni, decent acidity and a stylish, medium-bodied, spicy, ripe mouthfeel. Wine Spectator: Smooth and richly flavored, offering supple currant, black berry and beef carpaccio. Firms up on the finish, with the flavors gaining traction and detail.
