Producer Information Pierre Péters is a Champagne house in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger particularly known for its range of Blanc de Blancs Chardonnay wines. In the last decade or so the estate has risen quickly into the top flight, garnering attention from international critics. The Péters family has grown grapes on the Côte des Blancs for six generations, beginning in 1858 when Gaston Péters of Luxembourg married into a family of local growers. The wines were labeled Camille Péters from 1919 to 1944, when it was renamed for the new proprietor, Pierre Péters. To this day, the house remains family-owned and run. The wines are made exclusively from estate vineyards, which is unusual in the region. In total, Pierre Péters has just over 19 hectares (47 acres) of Chardonnay vines mainly located in the top communes of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Oger, Avize and Cramant. Les Chétillons is a highly regarded vineyard in Le Mesnil from which Pierre Péters makes a single-vineyard wine of the same name. Juice is fermented in small temperature-controlled steel vats and aged on its lees. The non-vintage flagship Cuvée de Réserve features reserve wines from more than 15 different vintages of Grand Cru vineyard wines, while the Extra Brut is sourced from a single site. L'Esprit is the multi-vineyard vintage wine, while La Perle is bottled at lower pressure and is slightly less dry than the other wines. The rosé is a blend of Chardonnay with rosé de saignée (lightly-colored red juice run off from red fruit) to give a pale-hued, elegant style.

This cuvée has a beautiful personality, with the perfect balance between power and finesse. Producer Information In 2009, Raymond Boulard's three children decided to follow their own professional paths. The Raymond Boulard Champagne House ceased to exist therefore. Francis Boulard, his wife Jeanne and daughter Delphine started the house called Champagne Francis Boulard & Fille. For many years, Francis Boulard pushed the Raymond Boulard family estate towards organic methods; hence it is that some of their parcels were already converted and certified to be organic. With his daughter Delphine, he can now take this movement towards the most natural champagne wines possible to its logical conclusion. Their goal is to see the whole estate certified organic. Francis Boulard and his daughter Delphine belong to a family of winegrowing winemakers for 6 generations... doubtless more. The oldest member of the family who could be traced was born during the French Revolution in 1792. Francis Boulard's first contact with wines came about thanks to his grandfather, Julian: at 14, the young Francis was given permission to hold the handles of the plough behind Bijou the horse, a sturdy Ardennes horse. His grandfather was in fact one of the last to resist the galloping mechanisation which followed the end of WW II, still using a horse to plough his 2 hectares (5 acres) of vines. Julien Boulard sold his still wines to champagne houses. It was his son, Raymond Boulard who decided to vinify and bottle champagne in 1952. In the 70s, the young Francis joined the company Boulard Frères and very soon afterwards (1975) was made responsible for vinification. Francis & Jeanne Boulard Francis & Jeanne Boulard The champagne house Raymond Boulard & Fils was founded in 1980. After the death of their father, his three children continued running the family estate together. Francis Boulard, while still continuing with the vinification, became ever increasingly...

Producer: Franck Bonville Ratings: WA 95 JS 91 Vintage: 2013 Size: 750ml ABV: 12.5% Varietal: Chardonnay Country/Region: France, Champagne This rich and fat wine counterbalances a fresher, minty and iodized touch, as well as a slight aerial oxidation. Reviews: Wine Advocate: This mid-slope parcel covering less than one hectare was planted in 1960 in Oger. It produces wines that are full and generous, as evidenced by its aromas of butter and pastry, but there are also scents of spices and ripe white fruit. On the palate, it is round, suave, even mouthfilling, before leaving a more mineral-infused and taut impression on the finish that reveals as well notes of menthol and fresh fruit. James Suckling: Richly spiced, with ground anise, clove, ginger and cardamom, this offers a lively bead, fresh acidity and flavors of quince, honey, pastry dough and golden raisin. Offers a soft, creamy finish. Producer Information Domaine Franck Bonville has around 15 hectares of vines in 77 parcels of vines spread across three Grand Cru Côte des Blancs villages, Avize, Oger and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. The origins of the domaine go back to Alfred Bonville, who from around 1900 bought up parcels of land in the years following phylloxera, always within reach by horse of his home in Oger. Despite the wars he continued to invest after the birth of his son Franck, and in 1937 they bought a house in Avize complete with press and barrel cellar. From the end of the war, Franck began to sell Champagnes under his own name. Franck's son Gilles and his wife Ingrid continued the work, replacing the old casks with stainless steel for a more precise vinification. Their son Olivier trained as an oenologist and joined the domaine in 1996 after working in Germany and Corsica. Olivier has focused his attention on sustainable viticulture and purity of expression, so that the wines offer 'the aromatic complexity and elegance of Chardonnay', as well as 'the authenticity of the Cote des Blancs terroir and the minerality of the chalky sub-soil'. All the wines go through malolactic fermentation, and apart from the barrel-aged Belles-Voyes cuvée, all are made in stainless steel.

The finish is quite unique, rich and long-lasting. Distillery Information Champagne Vilmart is a Champagne house situated in the small village of Rilly la Montagne in the heart of the Montagne de Reims. It was founded in 1890 by Desiré Vilmart and has passed down the family since. Vilmart produces wines from 11 hectares (27 acres) of vineyards in and around the village, with about 60-percent planted to Chardonnay and 40-percent to Pinot Noir. It is a so-called "grower" Champagne house, which means it only makes wines from vineyard plots that it owns, rather than buying in grapes, which is common for the larger houses. Vilmart's standard cuvée is Chardonnay-dominant, with Pinot Noir contributing around 30-percent. On top of this, the house produces a range of other wines, including the flagship Grand Cellier d'Or vintage wine, also Chardonnay-dominant, made from the oldest plots of vines. The base wine is aged for 10 months in 228-liter oak barrels before the secondary fermentation. There are numerous other wines including the Rubis rosé.

Finishes with a light spine of singed cedar. Reviews: Wine Advocate: The 2013 Le Petit Cheval Blanc is a vintage that will not be commercialized. Like the 2014, it has an attractive bouquet, hints of beeswax infusing the citrus fruit, though not as mineral-laden as the 2014. The palate is nicely balanced, pleasant with slightly lower acidity than the 2013 and as such, it does not quite deliver the energy and the length that the Cheval Blanc team were looking for. James Suckling: Soft-edged at first, with graceful plum and mulled strawberry notes, this picks up some flesh with air, showing pretty bergamot tea and blood orange details. Finishes with a light spine of singed cedar. Producer Information The present-day Cheval Blanc vineyards had vines at least as far back as the 18th century, as shown by Belleyme's map of the region dated 1764. Nearly a century later, the estate was acquired by the Fourcaud-Laussac family who owned it until 1998, when it was sold to Mr Bernard Arnault and Baron Albert Frère. The vineyard is in a single block, and borders on the Pomerol appellation. An outstanding terror and unusual proportions of Cabernet Franc and Merlot give this great wine an absolutely unique flavor. Chateau Cheval Blanc has had a greater number of outstanding vintages than any other classified great growth over the past century. Another unusual characteristic of Cheval Blanc is that once it reaches its peak, it maintains it for a very long time. This admirable wine is powerful, soft, rich, round and silky. It has tremendous fruit and elegance as well as exceptional quality from year to year.

Reviews: Wine Advocate: The 2013 Brut Blanc de Blancs Comtes de Champagne's bouquet is compellingly fresh and minty, revealing aromas of white fruit—notably pear and apple—marzipan and sweet spices, as well as a light touch of citrus mingled with classy autolytic notes. On the palate, this is a structured, tensile and ethereal Champagne with high acidity—a sign of a classic vintage—animated by a mousse of striking finesse and delicacy. Although already enjoyable, it should develop well for several decades. Wine Enthusiast: This beautiful Chardonnay from five top Grand Cru vineyards is textured with fruit that is still impressively perfumed. Its concentration has allowed it to remain perennially young. Although there are hints of toastiness, the Champagne has many more years of potential. Taittinger is today proprietor of approximately 600 acres of vines among which are included parcels in the one hundred - percent rated villages of Cramant and Avize in the Cote des Blancs; and Bouzy, Mailly, Ambonnay and Verzenay in the Montagne de Reims. Producer Information Champagne Agrapart is a critically well-regarded and sought-after Champagne producer based in Avizé, in Champagne's Côte des Blancs subregion, just south of Épernay. It was founded by Arthur Agrapart in 1894, and extended by his grandson Pierre in the 1950s and 1960s. It is currently run by the fourth generation Pascal Agrapart as a récoltant-manipulant (RM) house, meaning it grows its own grapes – mostly Chardonnay – on 12 hectares (20 acres) of chalky soils in the Côte des Blancs. Pascal has recently been joined at the estate by his eldest son, Amboise. The Agrapart vineyards are plowed and treated with homemade composts. In the winery, grapes are fermented with wild yeasts and the base wines undergo a long aging on lees in oak barrels before the second fermentation adds the sparkle. The house is particularly associated with Chardonnay-based Champagne – of the six cuvées produced, four are Blanc de Blancs.

The house was acquired in 2012 by private-equity billionaire (and former Domino's pizza CEO) Mark Nunnelly and his wife Denise Dupré, a former Harvard Adjunct Faculty Member and board member of Boston University. Leclerc Briant is run by CEO Frédéric Zeimett. As well as working with a range of growers across the region, the estate also boasts a tiny plot of vines in central Épernay, dubbed "La Croisette". Grapes from this vineyard are made into a single vineyard label. In all, the house produces three main ranges: the "Classiques" (Réserve Brut, Rosé Extra Brut, Millésime Extra Brut, Rosé de Saignée Extra Brut and Blanc de Blancs); the Single Vineyard range (which can vary but often includes Premier and Grand Cru fruit as well as the La Croisette label); and the "Spécialités (a range of cuvées and special-release wines).

This winery was founded in 1897 by Ernest Cazals. The philosophy of this house has always been to attain the truest expression of terroir from the region where Chardonnay reigns. The most unique feature is that Claude Cazals, grandson to founder Ernest, purchased an enclosed plot of land for his sons, right in the middle of Oger. The enclosure created a mesoclimate, imbuing the grapes – planted in 1957 – with a consistent and particular character. Only when vintage 1995 was released did the then and current owner Delphine manage to have this plot approved as one of the 21 official Clos in Champagne. The Clos spans 3.7 hectare (9.1 acres), making it one of the largest Clos' in Champagne. The planting is 100% Chardonnay.

Aromas of toasted bread, mussel shells, chamomile, honey and dried citrus. It’s medium-bodied, silky and seamless, with a sharp backbone of acidity tying everything together. Reductive and intense. Distillery Information Champagne Ruinart was one of the first Champagne houses, established in 1729. It takes its name from the Benedictine monk Dom Ruinart, whose writings on Champagne were passed down through his family and resulted in the Maison Ruinart we know today. Dom Ruinart was born in Champagne in 1657, and died in 1709. He moved from his home to an abbey just outside of Paris, where he began to learn about the "wine with bubbles", which was very popular among the young aristocrats of the time. He believed it could be made best on the soils of his hometown. Upon his death in 1709, he left many books containing his writings on this to his nephew Nicolas Ruinart and, 20 years later, Maison Ruinart was founded. The Ruinart house was passed through the family for the next two centuries, during which time they were the first to ship rosé Champagne, as well as being the first to ship their bottles in wooden cases. From humble beginnings, the house now produces almost 2 million bottles a year and is currently owned by luxury brand superpower LVMH.

Combining linearity from the largest parcel, phenolic intrigue from a single oak barrel's worth of second-pressing juice, and a generous texture from our clay site, this is a wine to savour. Producer Information Digby Fine English is founded on the firm belief that England can produce world class sparkling wines – wines that stand up to the great and the good of global fizz. Through the art of blending and a commitment to ageing, we aim to delight wine lovers everywhere with a taste of England’s terroir and inimitable spirit. That’s where our namesake comes in: Sir Kenelm Digby was a seventeenth century alchemist, astrologer, diplomat, philosopher, privateer and much more besides; a man of boundless curiosity and insatiable ambition, who just so happened to give us the modern wine bottle. We are inspired by his passion for innovation, engineering and excellence, adopting his academic rigour in our winemaking and zest for life in our hospitality. With a bit of Sir Kenelm’s pluck, Digby has established itself as the country’s leading blending house, working with carefully selected vineyard partners across the South of England who are chosen for the quality of their land and viticultural ethos – a bottle of Digby doesn’t just contain the finest grapes going but also provides a true taste of the country’s varied soils and settings. We are fanatical about terroir and Digby’s distinguished style comes from grapes grown on a mixture of chalk, greensand and clay sites, which are then allowed ample time to mature as wines both on lees and under cork. CEO and Head Blender Trevor Clough ensures that all of Digby’s wines are distinctive – each bottle within the range is a confident, unique expression with its own personality. Working closely with Consulting Winemaker Dermot Sugrue (often whispered to be the best in the country), they strive for wines of balance, elegance, complexity and character. We have a Tasting Room in the historic town of Arundel, West Sussex, a convenient launchpad for exploring the surrounding wine regions that produce our grapes. Quite delicate and smooth texture on the long finish. Producer Information Champagne Pascal Agrapart (formerly Agrapart & Fils) is a critically well-regarded and sought-after Champagne producer based in Avizé, in Champagne's Côte des Blancs subregion, just south of Épernay.

Bruno Paillard is synonymous with quality. One hundred and twenty five acres of Grand Cru and Premier Cru vineyards provide the exceptional Pinot Noir, Pinot Munier and Pinot Chardonnay grapes which are used in the production of three luxury cuvees and one vintage Champagne. Each wine is produced in the traditional method and under the personal supervision of Bruno Paillard at his striking, state-of-the-art glass and stainless steel facility just outside Reims. Using only the first pressing of the grapes, Mr. Paillard is able to achieve the purest fruit flavors which then develop extraordinary balance during extended aging in the cellars. The Champagnes are all made with the dosage kept as low as possible in order to respect the authenticity of the wines. As a final note of quality, every bottle carries its date of "degorgement". Bruno Paillard is the only Champagne house to do so. The Champagnes of Bruno Paillard are rich, complex and dry but above all, elegant.

Producer: Domaine de la Grange des Peres Vintage: 2013 Size: 750ml ABV: 13.5% Varietal: Chardonnay, Marsanne, Roussanne Country/Region: France, Roussillon The white from the Grange des Pères delivers very beautiful aromas of white flowers and citrus, notes of gunflint. On the palate, there is freshness, fat and fullness and the long finish reveals beautiful empyreumatic notes. A magnificent white from Languedoc, so harmonious. Producer Information Domaine de la Grange des Pères is a star producer in the Languedoc region of France, which produces small quantities of two of the most sought-after and expensive wines in the region. The small amounts available on export markets often sell out as soon as, or even before, shipments arrive. The domaine was established in 1989 by the late founder Laurent Vaillé who repurposed land acquired by his grandather in the 1950s. The domaine overlooks the Hérault river, just south of the town of Aniane, close to Mas de Daumas Gassac. The land is rich in limestone, boulders, and glacial scree and required a great deal of dynamiting and bulldozing to produce an ideal terroir. Two wines are made under the IGP de l'Hérault classification. The red is mostly made from Syrah and Mourvèdre, with smaller proportions of Cabernet Sauvignon and Counoise. The varieties are vinified separately and aged separately in 228-liter barriques, and blended when fully finished, before settling and bottling. The use of Cabernet Sauvignon means the wine cannot be labeled as Languedoc AOC/AOP. The white wine is based on Roussanne with around 10 percent each of Marsanne and Chardonnay. The varieties are fermented separately, then blended for malolactic fermentation and aging in 600-liter demi-muid barrels.

Producer: Champagne Carbon Vintage: 2013 Size: 750ml ABV: 12% Varietal: Champagne Blend Country/Region: France, Champagne A wine of patience, breathing and aromatic unveiling takes place gradually, it then unfolds with a large creamy and milky scope. The soul expresses the richness of butter, caramel, walnut and forest honey. Then the ballet of aromas parades: pastries, undergrowth, plum, mirabelle plum, fresh coffee and nougatine among others. Producer Information Champagne Carbon was created 2011 by Alexandre Mea, heir in the fifth generation to the Devavry family, who set up their viniculture in Champillon in 1920 – incidentally just eleven years after Ettore Bugatti had founded his factory at Molsheim 300 km eastwards. While the Devavry family has always been a smaller but highly exquisite viticulturist, Alexandre Mea however sensed the opportunity to create something even more exclusive than the oldest vintages of his grandfather. After more than four years of research and development into a bottle wrapped in carbon as an advanced technological counterpoint to the traditionally selected and hand-processed grapes of the vineyard – 15 hectares in size – he founded Champagne Carbon in 2011. Only the finest fruits from Grand Cru and Premier Cru regions are harvested, picked by hand in a process that involves the entire team, including CEO, Alexandre Mea. The growth of these grapes is carefully monitored by Alexandre. There is only a small window during harvesting season in which the grapes can be collected, chosen for their size, fulness and color. To be closer to the product, Alexandre even built his house on the vineyard. Just as Bugatti, for Carbon the final product is achieved through the best process. Where large producers may store their wines in big stainless-steel vats, Champagne Carbon is held in traditional oak barrels. They must be turned, cleaned and delicately refilled each day to account for evaporation; a task that falls to one man, who cares for every barrel individually at Champagne Carbon’s Maison. These barrels provide a core structure to the wine as it draws flavor out of the wood; notes of spices that provide a depth and character often not found in wines produced on a more industrial scale.

Producer: Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé Vintage: 2013 Size: 750ml ABV: 12.5% Varietal: Chardonnay Country/Region: France, Burgundy This wine shows terrific balance and harmony. Quite delicate and smooth texture on the long finish. Producer Information Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé, based in the village of Chambolle-Musigny in Burgundy's Côte de Nuits, is one of the most famous wine producers in the region. The historic family estate has a lineage dating back almost half a millennium and forms part of the history of the village of Chambolle-Musigny, where it produces elegant wines made from Pinot Noir and, historically, Chardonnay from the Musigny Grand Cru site. The self-proclaimed "Domaine de Musigny", the estate holds 7.2 hectares (18 acres) of the Musigny Grand Cru vineyard – by far the biggest landowner in the 10.8 hectare (27 acre) climat, including all of the Petit Musigny plot at the southern end that directly overlooks the wall and château of the Clos de Vougeot. The estate also boasts 2.7 hectares (6.5 acres) of Bonnes-Mares – the other grand cru site in the commune of Chambolle-Musigny. Vines are also held in the famous Les Amoureuses Premier Cru vineyard (this amounts to just over half a hectare or 1.4 acres), as well as Les Baudes and Les Fuées, although these are often used to make the village-level wine. Musigny's steep slopes and stony, friable soils, and winemaker Francois Millet's low-intervention techniques, combine to produce a heavily fragranced wine with notes of violets, raspberries and blackberries. The wine, which is one of the most expensive in Chambolle-Musigny, is highly collectable and has the ability to age for decades. The Bonnes-Mares label, on the other hand, tends to be more robust, with more direct fruit and stronger tannins. Historically, Chardonnay was planted alongside the Pinot Noir vines to assist with the acidity and softness of the eventual wine. De Vogüé dug up half of its Chardonnay vines in 1986, and replaced them in their own plot in the Musigny vineyard. This Musigny Blanc is one of Burgundy's most curious wines, and is commanding prices that are rivaling those in Le Montrachet. De Vogüé's history began in the mid 1400s, with money bequeathed from one Jean Moisson to the Chambolle village church, which was the site of the future domaine. Throughout the years, the growing domaine was passed down through numerous...

Producer: Yann Alexandre Vintage: 2013 Size: 750ml Varietal: Chardonnay Country/Region: France, Champagne Producer Information Yann Alexandre is the eighth generation of his family to grow vines in the Petite Montagne de Reims, the third to make Champagne there. He and his wife, Séverine, share a passion for horticulture that directly informs their viticulture. “We grow the vineyard like a garden,” Yann explains. This is a high bar for two farmers working 6.3 hectares spread over 28 plots in nine villages. But is also essential to their philosophy: “I always try to put forward the characteristics of each plot of land and to reach perfect grape maturity and health.” Vitality is achieved through intensive hand work and regenerative practices to which the Alexandres have been dedicated since 1999. Swaths of bright yellow in the family vineyards signal the restorative impact of this approach: the region’s once ubiquitous tulipe de vigne was eradicated by intensive chemical farming; Yann and Séverine have nurtured the soils back to such health, the delicate flower has returned. As throughout the Petite Montagne, pinot meunier is the star, supported by pinot noir and chardonnay, the grapes matched to soils of calcareous clay, white marls, stones, and flint. Yann declares his aim is “as natural a Champagne as possible,” made from vital grapes, with minimal added sulfites, up to seven years lees aging, hand riddling and disgorgement, and “no detail left to chance.”

The estate reportedly dates back to 1549 when Pierre de Beaucastel bought a barn and a plot of vineyards in the region and inscribed his family's crest onto the walls. The land passed through the family until 1909, when it came under control of scientist Pierre Perrin. Today, Perrin's grandsons Jean-Pierre and François run the estate.

Producer: Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé Vintage: 2013 Size: 750ml ABV: 12% Varietal: Pinot Noir Country/Region: France, Burgundy Delicate and impressive depth on the nose. The finish is quite unique, rich and long lasting. Throughout the years, the growing domaine was passed down through numerous generations...

Producer: Domaine des Miroirs Vintage: 2013 Size: 750ml ABV: 12.5% Varietal: Chardonnay Country/Region: France, Vin de France It is a dry and tangy white wine from the Jura, with incredible freshness. This bottle is the ideal accompaniment for all your white meats and mushrooms. Producer Information Domaine des Miroirs is a sought-after producer in the southern part of the Jura region of France, run by Japenese ex-pat Kenjiro Kagami. The wines are prized for delicacy and purity, often showing contradictory hints of oxidative nuttiness and reductive smokiness at the same time. There are two regular Chardonnay releases, and two further occasional ones, plus a single Savagnin wine. A Poulsard named Ja-Nai is the main red wine, while a Trousseau named Que Sera Sera appears more rarely. A blend of the two grapes (Ja Do) was made in the 2015 vintage only. Wines are labelled as Vin de France. There are four hectres (10 acres) of vineyards. Yields are kept very low at around 2500 liters per hectare. This might result in around 10,000 bottles in a typical vintage. In the cellar, red wine ferments are allowed to happen in barrel in their own time, and may take 45 days. Little or nothing is done to aid extraction. White grapes are pressed slowly over the course of a day. There is no skin contact; the wine settles for two days then stays in old oak until after a second winter. Kagami does not overtly try to achieve flor in his white wine barrels, but as they are only topped up five or six times over the two years, some can occur.

Producer: Domaine Prieuré Roch Vintage: 2013 Size: 750ml ABV: 12.5% Varietal: Pinot Noir Country/Region: France, Burgundy Powerful and full bodied, dense and structured, long finish, the nobility of Nuits-Saint-Georges. Producer Information Domaine Prieuré Roch is something of a cult, minimal-intervention Burgundy producer with vineyard holdings throughout the Côte d'Or but mostly concentrated in Nuit-Saint-Georges. Wines are made from a number of designated appellations with Pinot Noir red wines in preponderance. However, the estate also has Chardonnay vineyards in the Côte de Beaune. The estate was founded in 1988 by Henri-Frédéric Roch – a member of the Leroy family and co-owner and co-director of the legendary Domaine de la Romanée-Conti since 1992. The "prieuré" (meaning "priory" in French) was appended by Roch himself. Prieuré Roch was established with just two hectares (five acres) of vineyards divided between four different parcels in Vosne Romanée. These parcels had, at the time, been sold off by Romanée-Conti in order finance the acquisition of a larger portion of the Romanée-Saint-Vivant site. The estate now boasts more than 14 hectares (34 acres) with a strong majority in Nuit-Saint-Georges. The domaine's holdings include a number of highly-regarded grand and premier cru vineyards. It is arguably best known for the uncommonly large, five-hectare (12 acre) premier cru monopole, the Clos de Corvées in the southern Premeaux-Prissey commune of the Nuits-Saint-Georges appellation. Unsurprisingly, however, despite the recognition of its premier cru parcels, its grand cru wines from Chambertin-Clos-de-Bèze and Clos de Vougeot command higher prices. Prieuré Roch also produces wines from the Vosne-Romanée premier cru Les Scuhots as well as other, village-level, holdings in the commune. In 2010, the estate expanded further with the acquisition of a few hectares in the Côte de Beaune from which it produces its Ladoix Chardonnay. The vineyards are all managed using organic farming practices. The domaine has also gained a reputation for its strict low yield productions enforced in the early 1990s. Vines now produce roughly 18 hectoliters per hectare, in contrast with many grand cru AOC regulations that allow for up to 35 hectoliters. The winery harvests and ferments the grapes whole-cluster in every vintage. Punchdowns are done by foot and any "remontage", or splashing...

Producer: Yann Alexandre Vintage: 2017 Size: 750ml Varietal: Pinot Meunier, Pinot Noir Country/Region: France, Champagne Producer Information Yann Alexandre is the eighth generation of his family to grow vines in the Petite Montagne de Reims, the third to make Champagne there.

The palate opens up to honeysuckle and crème brûlée. The full mouth feel leads to a very round and long finish. Reviews: Wine Enthusiast: From estate-grown Chardonnay, this is a gorgeously crafted and aged sparkling wine that is persistently crisp in stone, green apple, nectarine and lemon. Firm in lasting acidity, this has beautiful composure and an understated richness of crème brûlée and baked pineapple. Producer Information Domaine Carneros is a Napa Valley estate founded by one of Champagne's most world-renowned houses – Taittinger. Domaine Carneros encompasses five vineyards in the Carneros AVA planted to a combination of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The estate originated with Claude Taittinger's selection of a 138 acre (56 hectare) parcel of land in 1987. Since then, the core focus of Domaine Carneros has centered on the creation of methóde traditionnelle sparkling wines, spanning Champagne styles from Brut to Blanc de Blancs. In 1992 the estate's wine range was supplemented by the addition of a still Pinot Noir wine. Following this foray into still wine, Domaine Carneros expanded its collection to include a limited production Pinot Noir rosé and single-vineyard Chardonnay wines. The 350 acre (142 hectare) estate boasts 225 acres (91 hectares) of vineyard devoted to Pinot Noir and 125 acres (51 hectares) planted with Chardonnay. The grapes are all harvested by hand either at night or in the early hours of the morning in order to maintain cool must temperatures on arrival in the winery. In the winery, the grapes are whole-bunch pressed (without crushing or destemming) in a membrane press. Only the initial pressing of the grapes is used for the production of each wine. The wines are then aged according to their particular style. For example, Domaine Carneros's Brut, Rosé, Ultra Brut and Blanc de Noir sparkling wines undergo three years of aging in bottle, whereas the Blanc de Blancs is aged in bottle for six years. In 2003, Domaine Carneros installed a solar...
