The Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards are planted adjacent to the winery, the essence of an estate definition in the center of the Oakville appellation. The winery had the highest production among the varied Coppola wine estates and produced the group's value brands. It was created decades later to separate the different brands the Neibaum-Coppola estate had cultivated. Producer Information Gary Eberle, a native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, started his college career in 1962 at Pennsylvania State University, where he balanced between being a defensive tackle for the Penn State Nittany Lions and an undergraduate biology student. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, he then attended Louisiana State University (LSU) for graduate work in cellular genetics. His success earned him a National Science Fellowship to Charity Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana, where one of his professors introduced him to the decadent world of food and wine. After tasting first and second growth Bordeaux from his professor’s cellar, Eberle quickly took a keen interest in Cabernet Sauvignon. It was then he began envisioning the creation of an American wine that would rival Bordeaux's. He soon found himself on his way to California where he enrolled in the Enology Doctorate Program at the University of California Davis. Eberle Winery was not Gary Eberle’s first wine venture when he arrived in Paso Robles, California. After finishing his coursework for a Ph.D. in Enology and Viticulture at U.C. After several successful years as the winemaker, Eberle refocused his attention and desire to produce premium, small production wine. Louis arrived in Ellis Island that year with friends Oscar Meyer and Theo Koshswersmill. The three moved from city to city in search of work until they arrived in the boomtown of Chicago in 1872. The American Dream was realized in 1888, with a business loan from Charles Wacker, when Louis Glunz was able to set up a shop as a wine, beer and spirit merchant on Wells Street and Division Street. In 1992, the third generation and forth generation of the Glunz family opened their winery specializing in small batched fortified wines. Today, the winery is located on 40 acres in the rolling hills of Paso Robles, California.

Producer Information Buena Vista Winery is located on the Sonoma side of the Los Carneros AVA in California. Founded in 1857 by Agoston Haraszthy de Mokesa, it is considered to be the oldest winery in northern California and its founder as the father of California wine. Today, Buena Vista produces a large array of wines, mainly focused on Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Agoston Haraszthy de Mokesa immigrated to the US from Hungary in 1840, and eventually made his way to northern California in hopes of finding his fortune in the Gold Rush. He saw Sonoma's fantastic potential for growing vinifera grapes instead, and planted vines in Carneros. In 1869, Haraszthy tragically died in an alligator-infested river in Nicaragua, and the winery was forgotten until 1943, when it was purchased by Frank and Antonia Bartholomew. Bringing on the famous winemaker André Tchelistcheff, they replanted the vineyards and restored the winery, producing their first vintage in 1949. In 2011, Buena Vista became part of Boisset Family Estates, which owns several wineries, including Raymond Vineyards in Napa. The Los Carneros AVA is shared between Napa and Sonoma counties. With its strong, cooling breeze from the San Pablo Bay, it is suitable for cool-climate varieties including Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Merlot and Syrah also do well on the clay-dominated soils.
