The rum begins with a selection rums that were initially aged for 10 years in ex-bourbon American oak casks. These rums are then carefully blended under the careful supervision of Miguel Barceló before being re-casked and aged for another 2 years in used wine casks from the prestigious Bordeaux house of Château d’Yquem. The result is a rich, sweet, and complex rum that is released in very limited quantities each year.
