Written in Latin the words above are the description of the content of this donation. The Collalto family still owns this and the surrounding lands, Just 45 miles due north of Venice, the Collalto estate stretches from the hills of Susegana to the plains of Santa Lucia di Piave and as far as the municipality of Pieve di Soligo. Its 3,200 acres are home to animals such as horses, cattle, swine and sheep, with arable fields and hills marked by woodlands, castles, vineyards, agritourism and farmhouses. The signs of history, culture and nature co-exist with farming practices that fully respect what is a centuries-long tradition passed down by the Collato family. They have just begun to replant willow trees on the estate in areas not suitable for viticulture. Eventually Salcheto will use the wood for heating, with the goal of creating a sustainable green system at the winery that is 100-percent energy independent. Even the measure of their carbon footprint per bottle of wine is a true trailblazer for the industry, including not only the work in the vineyard and winery, but also the emissions from obtaining raw materials (glass in particular) and transportation to the final consumer. At Salcheto, the path to reduce emissions travels hand in hand with quality production of the wines. Salcheto is full energy independence, the first “Off Grid” winery, in the sense of being completely disconnected from traditional power-distribution networks. This result has been achieved by combining, in an integrated way, water recycling and independence, energy savings, and renewable energy sources present in the countryside, not only Solar Photovoltaic but also geothermal and biomasses systems.

Producer Information Poliziano is located on the slopes below Montepulciano near the village of Gracciano. On these ridges, at the best altitudes and positions, are the vineyards of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. The Poliziano Estate was founded in 1961 when Federico Carletti's father, Dino, purchased 55 acres. Today it consists of over 500 acres. After taking his degree in agriculture, Federico Carletti worked in northern Italy. In 1980 he returned to Tuscany and began working full time on his father's estate. In the past two decades, Federico has created some of the finest wines in this top quality wine-producing area. Federico chose the name "Poliziano" because he loved the work of a renowned native poet, Angelo Ambrogini. Angelo was known as Il Poliziano, because he came from Montepulciano. Angelo's portrait hangs in the tasting room in the center of the estate. Some of Poliziano's wines, such as Le Stanze, were named after the poet. Federico thinks of himself "as a farmer", because he is "convinced that fine wines originate in the vineyard. Selected clones, planting layouts, rootstock, pruning methods and training systems are chosen with the sole object of ensuring the quality of the grapes. This is the starting point for my wines: they are made only from grapes grown on the estate, respecting their original vintage and the typicality of the area they come from.”

Full body, soft and creamy tannins and a clear, light and brilliant finish. Producer Information Castiglion del Bosco is a Tuscan producer in the northwest of the Montalcino appellation. It cultivates an estate of entirely Sangiovese for its Brunello and Rosso de Montalcino wine portfolio. The Bosco property covers 2000 hectares of land with 62ha (153.2 acres) of vineyards planted entirely to Sangiovese. The vines are divided into two distinct plots – the 20ha Gauggiole vineyard and the 42ha Capanna vineyard. An elevation between 250 and 460 metres (820 to 1509 feet) allows for wind penetration into the canopy as well as a diurnal temperature shift to encourage ripening. Prima Petra is Castiglion del Bosco's second estated, located on the Tuscan coast. It has 11 hectares (27 acres) planted to Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The estate has a long history stretching back several centuries, apparent in many of the structures still standing on its property. It has also been influential in the history of wine in Montalcino, being a founding members of the Consorizo del Vino Brunello di Montalcino in the 1960s. The organization was formed to promote the wines of the region and regulate quality when the region achieved DOC status. In 1972, the surrounding Val d'Orcia region came to the attention of the World Heritage Committee and Castiglion del Bosco and its historic estate became a World Heritage Site.

Producer Information Argiano is an estate in the Tuscan region of Montalcino. It is well-known for its Sangiovese-based red wines under the traditional Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, and more modern red wines under the IGT Toscana designation. Argiano's history dates back to the construction of the villa, which dates back to the late 16th Century. By the time it was completed in 1596, it is believed the estate had started to produce wine (records show olive oil was being produced at this time). The land and villa changed ownership between various aristocratic families but only flourished as a winery in the 19th Century after it came into the possession of Lady Ersilia Caetani Lovatelli. In 1967, Argiano was a founding member of the Brunello Consortium set up to advance and promote the wine region. In 2013, the estate was sold to a Brazilian business group, which began to make improvements to the winery and increased land holdings from 50 to 60 hectares (124 to 150 acres). Argiano makes several wines: the flagship Brunello di Montalcino and Brunello di Montalcino Riserva, Vigna del Suolo (a single-vineyard Brunello); a Rosso di Montalcino; and two IGT wines called Solengo and Non Confunditur. Suolo, like the Brunello, is 100 percent Sangiovese, but the Solengo and Non Confunditur wines are both Bordeaux blends with a little Syrah, and in the case of the Non Confunditur, Sangiovese. Total production is around 337,000 bottles of which roughly 100,000 are Brunello di Montalcino. Argiano was one of the producers accused of using non-permissible grapes in their blends as part of the "Brunellogate" scandal in 2009....

Medium-bodied with saline-mineral character. Stone-fruited and nicely articulate. Producer Information The Morgante winery represents one family’s initiative to employ five generations of viticultural experience. In 1994, Antonio Morgante, with the enthusiasm of his sons, Carmelo and Giovanni, decided to vinify their vineyard grapes. This decision represented the beginning of a strong commitment to achieve the best results with indigenous grapes while keeping an eye toward innovation. In 1997, the family hired Riccardo Cotarella as their winemaker. Cotarella, widely recognized for his work crafting compelling wines from Italy’s native varietals, shares the Morgante passion for producing great red wines from Nero d’Avola. The Morgante winery is located in the pristine countryside of southern Sicily, a hilly region located about 1200-1800 feet above sea level and just 45 miles from the splendid Valley of the Temples of Agrigento. The property comprises 500 acres of vineyards and almond trees, and the region is ideal for viticulture, with a Mediterranean climate and soil that ranges from clay and calcareous to marl. In Sicily, Nero d’Avola is the undisputed red grape for wines of excellence, and it is this vine that the Morgante family has always cultivated. All aspects of production — from vineyard to cellar — are rigorously controlled by every member of the family, all of whom are dedicated to making wines of the highest possible quality. That was when he decided that music would be played to his vines. This was not just a romantic dream. Carlo was convinced that music would help in the production of good wine. After initially being considered a visionary, he’s now not the only one
