Cognac: Hardy Legend 1863 AH Hardy is a line of blended cognac. The 1863 Legend was first introduced in 2017 and is a blended cognac with no stated age or style. It is made from grapes from the Petite Champagne region with a slight proportion of Borderies region (the latter a much rarer brandy). Size: 750ML Proof: 80 (40% ABV) Origin: France Distillery: Maison Hardy Hardy Legend 1863 is named for the year in which the Hardy Distillery was founded. It’s a lovely blend of Hardy Cognacs made from 100% Ugni Blanc grapes raised in limestone soils within three of the seven producing districts — Petits Champaign, Fins Bois, and Borderies. The Spirit is aged in lightly-toasted Limousin oak barrels from two to twelve years. It is a wonderful, approachable, award-winning example of Hardy’s expertise and we would have a dram whenever there is a bottle open to pour. Hardy Legend 1863 Cognac Tasting Notes Nose: The bouquet is light and floral with notes of cappuccino and vanilla with a hint of citrus zest. Palate: On the palate you’ll fine café latte, orange marmalade, and jasmine. Finish: The finish is medium length, smooth, and lightly sweet. Distillery Information Penderyn is a Welsh distillery and whisky brand, known for its award-winning single malt whiskies. The Penderyn distillery is located in the Brecon Beacons National Park, in the historic village of Penderyn. Penderyn single malt whisky is made using the traditional pot still method, and is matured in ex-bourbon barrels. Penderyn also produces a peated single malt whisky, which is matured in ex-bourbon barrels and finished in Islay peated whisky barrels.
