One batch was then transferred from the original bourbon barrels to twenty-two freshly emptied vintage Brandy de Jerez casks. “Then, after more than twelve months of finishing, it was blended and bottled at high proof (54.5% ABV) without colouring or chill filtering.” Great Plains Craft Spirits 18 Year Old Jerez Brandy Finished Whisky Tasting Notes Nose: The nose and palate have burnt match, old whisky notes, light oak, and a great ethereal quality. Palate: Deep oak, dried fruit, parmesan, raisin, grape soda, vanilla, stewed prunes, a touch of rancio and some mixed fruit preserves – marmelade, blackberry, and red currant – with a good dose of tannin.
