Producer Information Scotto Cellars is a family company of fifth generation winemakers producing California wines under an extensive range of labels from classic varieties such as Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon and Zinfandel. The company has its origins in a wine merchant business founded in 1909 in Brooklyn, New York by ship's caulker Dominic Scotto. In turn, his Italian naval officer father had made wines for friends and family on the Sicilian island of Ischia. In the 1940s, the family created Villa Armando, one of the US's oldest wine brands. By 1963, Anthony Scotto moved his family from New York to California, initially buying a winery in the Livermore Valley. Scotto Cellars itself was founded in 2004 when Anthony Scotto III took over the family businesses. Production capacity was doubled in 2009 with the development of additional winery facilities under the Scotto Family Cellars banner. Sera Fina Winery in Amador County was established the following year as a personal project by Paul and Whitney Scotto. Scotto Family Cellars is one of the company’s core brands along with the Silver Peak range from Sonoma County. Other ranges include Anthony & Dominic from Napa Valley (for Pinot Noir) and Russian River Valley (for Chardonnay); Rich Wine Co.; Napa Napa; Brownstone Winery; Heavyweight; Nola Grace; and RR Rare collections of California wines. Numerous other wine labels are also produced, along with a range of speciality products such as canned wines, sangria and chocolate-flavored wine.

On the palate, this is as soft as a goose-feather mattress, with very little notable acidity or lift. Deeply ripe and baked black-fruit flavors taste of cassis and blueberry on a thick finish. Producer Information Celler Vall Llach was founded in the early 90s by Enric Costa and Lluís Llach, in Porrera, one of the nine towns that make up the DOC Priorat in the south of Catalonia. The winery’s first vintage was in 1998 and it reached the market at the end of 2000. The demanding standards we impose on all the winery’s activity and processes are: rigour, quality and the importance of the countryside. We use controlled microproduction of the vineyards and “trossos” (plots of land used), so that quality always outweighs quantity. Likewise, we’ve set a limit on expansion of production and growth, so we never lose the personalised and exhaustive control over each one of the processes. All this, and the unique character of the Priorat region, mean we can offer wines that we believe are fascinating and exclusive.
