Size: 700ML Proof: 95.4 (47.7%ABV) Origin: Scotland Distillery: Bowmore Joining The Kinship range from independent bottler Hunter Laing comes this superb single malt from Bowmore, celebrating the wildlife of Islay! Matured for a generous 33 years, it was finally bottled up at cask strength, with a total release of just 247 bottles. A real treasure for fans of the legendary Islay-based distillery. Bowmore 33 Year Old - The Kinship (Hunter Laing) 700ML Tasting Notes Nose: Soft peat reek, seaweed and creamy fudge on the nose, along with pickled ginger. Palate: Dill and leather notes, beautifully elegant on the palate with the peat more pronounced, slowly evolving into a wonderfully long. Finish: Focused and elegant finish. Distillery Information The River Laggan journeys many miles through Islay, cutting its course through ferrous rocks, peat bog, moss and grassy mound, ‘til it finds itself at the Western harbour town of Bowmore, Islay’s capital. The distillery produces some two million litres annually and adheres to strict traditions; production methods have scarcely changed in two centuries. Founded in 1779, by John Simpson, Bowmore is Islay’s oldest distillery. Following purchase in 1837, by William and James Mutter, the distillery was resold in 1892 to the Bowmore Distillery Company Ltd. Changing hands twice during the late 1920s, in 1963 the distillery was purchased for £117,000 by Stanley P Morrison. Bowmore has had a long affiliation with Japanese pioneers Suntory, who acquired a stake in the company during the late 1980s. In 1994, they bought the company outright. Bowmore enjoys a curious middle-ground as far as flavour is concerned; far from being a lighter offering - à la Northern Islay-based Bunnahabhain - the spirit is not as heavily peated nor as smoky, as its three Southern cousins surrounding Port Ellen. Today, Bowmore produces a heralded malt and the second best-selling Islay whisky after the leviathan Laphroaig. The range is quite large and independent bottlings have been released as well as a core range of acclaimed house bottlings, including the rare 1993 released Black Bowmore, a 1964 vintage whose initial asking price was around £2,500.

The Inchgower distillery lies in Banffshire not far from the mouth of the River Spey and just on the outskirts of the fishing town, Buckie. The distillery was bought out by Buckie Town Council in 1936, following the bankruptcy of Alexander Wilson and Co. Two years later Arthur Bell and Sons acquired the distillery for £3,000.

Bowmore 33 Year Old The Changeling x Frank Quitely Single Malt Scotch Whisky 700ML Tasting Notes Nose: Rich and delicate nose. Palate: The palate is very powerful and complex. Smooth texture. Finish: Elegant long lasting aftertaste. Distillery Information The River Laggan journeys many miles through Islay, cutting its course through ferrous rocks, peat bog, moss and grassy mound, ‘til it finds itself at the Western harbour town of Bowmore, Islay’s capital. Their whisky distillery produces some two million litres annually and adheres to strict traditions; production methods have scarcely changed in two centuries. Explore and browse the finest selection of Bowmore branded whisky from our huge range, below.

Palate: The festive notes continue, with Christmas cake, orange peels, and rich fruit. Finish: Sweet toffee, stewed fruit, a smidge of nutmeg and pepper. Distillery Information The Bacardi-owned Royal Brackla gained its regal prefix in 1835 when King William IV bestowed a Royal Warrant upon the distillery. It was the first distillery to attain such an accolade and the spirit was heralded accordingly as the ‘King’s own whisky’. Lying in blissful serenity in the Highlands, not far South of the town of Nairn, Brackla's life blood is the pure waters of the Cawdor Burn. Its capacity today is large at some 3.9 million litres and all of this, save for a few thousand casks, is used in Dewar’s blended products. The distillery was founded in 1812, by Captain William Fraser and it was not until 1919 that it parted from Fraser-family hands, after it was acquired by the Aberdeen-based James Leict and John Mitchell. Brackla ran in-house maltings for some time, though they were closed in 1966. Four years later the still capacity was increased with the addition of two further stills. Royal Brackla is currently under John Dewar and Sons ownership - Dewars was acquired by Bacardi in 1998, ending Diageo tenure, save for the warehousing which the drinks giant still rent as part of a long time lease. Accordingly Royal Brackla spirit is matured elsewhere. An official ten year-old was released in 2004 and there have been several independent bottlings throughout the years.

Size: 700ML Proof: 112.8 (56.4%ABV) Origin: Scotland Distillery: Glen Garioch Indie bottler Hunter Laing released this Glen Garioch single malt as part of The First Editions collection in 2024. Distilled in 2008, the whisky enjoyed a 16-year stay in a single wine cask before bottling, bringing layers of dark chocolate and berries to join biscuity malt and drying oaken spice at its core. Glen Garioch 16 Year Old 2008 Cask #HL21389 - The First Editions (Hunter Laing) Single Malt Scotch Whisky 700ML Tasting Notes Nose: Pine oil, fragrant woody spice, floral vanilla, and a touch of green tea. Palate: Drying, with layers of cacao and oak char, joined by dark cherry chocolate, and a touch of warming pepper. Finish: Stewed berries, rich oak, and warming spices. Distillery Information The Glen Garioch distillery may well be Scotland's first licensed distillery. Varying dates are given as to the founding of the distillery, but all are predated by an article in the Aberdeen Journal on the 1st December 1785, which announced the first distillation of spirit at the site. Glen Garioch (pronounced ‘Glen Geery’) lies at the village of Old Meldrum in Aberdeenshire. The distillery buildings sit huddled on a little outcrop flecked with heather gorse and grasses and surrounded by barley pastures - it is said that some of the best barley in Scotland is to be found there. Having changed hands many times over the course of the 19th and early 20th centuries, Glen Garioch distillery was shut down in 1968. Stanley P Morrison acquired the distillery two years later. In 1973, following extensive renovations, production resumed. The whisky produced was much more reminiscent of traditional Highland single malts, this was due in part to the floor maltings at the distillery and the malt maker’s schooling on Islay, where he learnt the joys of peated whiskies. At a time when the Islay malt whiskies were very fashionable, Glen Garioch’s new, robust character did much for the fortunes of the distillery. The floor maltings were decommissioned in 1979, though recently there has been much talk of using them once more.

Known for its light, mellow grain whisky from maize, barley, and wheat, aged in American oak, it's a major contributor to blended whiskies, though its own single grain releases are rare and collectible."

Bowmore 10 Year Old 2014 Cask #20075 - Old Particular (Douglas Laing) Single Malt Scotch Whisky 700ML Tasting Notes Nose: Rich and delicate nose. Palate: Balanced and rich flavors. Finish: Elegant long-lasting aftertaste.

Distillery Information The Cragganmore distillery was founded in 1869 by John Smith, who managed The Macallan and The Glenlivet distilleries. Sited close by the main Speyside railway line and in close proximity to the elegant River Spey, the Cragganmore whisky distillery draws its water from the mineral-rich Craggan Burn, which tumbles down its namesake, the Craggan More hill. Of the 1.52 million litres the distillery produces annually, the majority is used for blending, for blenders have always revered the spirit. Today, it can be found in Old Parr, among other blended Scotch whiskies. The name derives from the Scottish Gaelic ‘creagan mór’ or ‘big rock’. In 1901, Cragganmore was among many whisky distilleries to benefit from the architectural skill of Charles Doig, the Elgin-based architect, who renovated the buildings. The stills, which have numbered four since 1964, have an unusual shape with a flat top. This is said to contribute to the unique character of the spirit. At present, Cragganmore is under Diageo ownership and has been featured accordingly in their Classic Malts range. There are currently several independent bottlings as well as a substantial core range.

Palate: The palate is very powerful and complex. Smooth texture. Finish: Elegant long-lasting aftertaste.
