Here at Midtown Spirits we currently produce Vodka, Gin, and Coffee Liqueur. In the near future, we aim to begin aging spirits such as Rum, Whiskey, and Agave Spirit. The experience at Midtown Spirits is unlike any other in Sacramento. You are able to be within feet of where the spirits are being produced, while you enjoy a cocktail in our restaurant. Midtown Spirits is the first distillery to open in Sacramento since Prohibition, and we are excited to bring the industry back to the capital of California! Our interest in distilling grew from years working together in the hospitality industry. We met while working at a bar just around the corner from our current facility, called Pour House. Jason left in 2014 to open up our sister business, Preservation & co. Preservation & co specializes in making cocktail mixes such as Bloody Mary Mix and Margarita Mix. Dave continued to work at a couple of other bars in town, before joining Jason at Preservation & co. a couple of years later to manage production and operations. At that point, we had a combined 33 years working in the hospitality industry and were not sure if we were ever going back. However, while running Preservation & co, we realized that selling the mix was just a part of the drink, and we wanted to complete the cocktail. After a little bit of liquid courage, we decided to start a distillery and attempt to be the first to successfully do so in Sacramento. It took nearly 2 years, but we were finally able to get it done! We opened the distillery and restaurant in the same facility that we have been in for the last 10 years.
