There is no reference to Christian Science in either of the extensive biographies of Disney by Bob Thomas and Neal Gabler. It is known that there were at least three animators who were allowed to do ""secretarial"" presentation signatures for Disney. We have carefully examined the signature in this book, and we believe this signature is by Hank Porter. Although this is almost certainly not signed by Walt himself, it is an interesting association and an unusually nice copy. 0

The wrapper is protected in a removable Brodart archival cover. First edition, with full number line 1-10. This copy inscribed by the author in blue biro to the title page, along with a loosely inserted B/W card photograph of the author, additionally signed by Adams. A long-awaited sequel to 'Watership Down', the author's debut work and a classic work of children's fiction published in 1972. The present title, which followed almost 25 years later, explores some of the folk stories known to the rabbits, as well as the lives of some of the key characters in the original work; Hazel, Fiver, Bigwig and others. Richard Adams was a fervent supporter of animal rights, and as well as his writings, which were dominated by themes of anthopomorphosied animals and naturalism, he served as as president of the RSPCA, and was a long-term patron of Animal Aid. His 1977 novel 'The Plague Dogs' described a mongrel and a terrier, who escaped from an animal testing facility, and in some of the present tales, Adams returns to his common theme of the threat of man to animals - here describing wildfires, and a rabbit who 'smells of man'. John Lawrence is a prolific illustrator and wood engraver, who has provided artwork for over 200 books inlcuding, most recently, Philip Pullman's 'Lyra's Oxford' and 'One upon a time in the North'. Something And Nothing is the second volume in the autobiography from David Lewis Gedge of Wedding Present fame. The stories featured in this book have previously only been available to readers of the Tales From The Wedding Present comic book series. This collected edition comes with 100 pages of never-before-seen additional material and an introduction by Craig Cash. David writes the Tales From The Wedding Present narrative together with long-time musical associate Terry de Castro, and then the stories are illustrated by virtuoso artist Lee Thacker. For the past decade, they've been working steadily (along with editing help from Jessica McMillan) to relate David's life and adventures. Something And Nothing is presented in chronological order; it takes up where Volume One left off – just after the release of The Wedding Present's first single 'Go Out And Get 'Em, Boy!' in 1985 - and takes us through the next three years of the band's existence. David writes intimately about all of the events leading up to the writing, recording and release of the band's classic debut album, George Best, as well as detailing sessions that the group recorded for John Peel [including the legendary Ukrainian folk music ones], early live appearances in the UK and the rest of Europe and the development of their label Reception Records. On the way, we also learn about some of the romantic experiences that may have informed his writing. Condition: This copy is in excellent condition.
