He was also a nightlife impresario, opening the famed El Matador nightclub in San Francisco. The title of the book refers to the famous, and infamous, clientele of his legendary nightclub. Light staining to the fore edge, a touch of scattered foxing to the top edge, near fine in fine dw, INSCRIBED on the title page to Bill Styron, where Conrad had added a drawing of a matador in the bullring.
