Copies of the First Edition with the Prayer Wheel plate facing page 200 are Very Scarce.** William Henry Knight was a Captain in England's Forty-Eighth Regiment. This is his only known work. Captain Knight journeyed through Kashmir and Tibet in 1860 in the company of another officer and a porter. Having spent a year and a half in India with his regiment, he had managed to obtain a six months' leave of absence in order to escape the hot season and journey through the cool foothills of the Himalayas. David joined the RAFVR in 1937 and later obtained a short-service commission. In early 1939, he was posted to 87 Squadron, and he accompanied the squadron to France. On 10 May, the first day of the German invasion, David claimed his first aerial victories. He was awarded the DFC on 28 May, for his actions during the Battle of France, having shot down eleven aircraft in less than two weeks.
