Distillery Information The Osborne Group is named for Thomas Osborne Mann, originally of England, who settled in Cadiz, Spain at the end of the 18th century and entering the wine-trading business. It has remained in the family for the subsequent 200 years. In 1987, they expanded the company to distilling brandy and eau-de-vie. Today, they produce wine, spirits, and a variety of pork products. The Osborne Bull is the trademark of the company, first invented in 1956 as 12 foot-high images of the fighting bull made famous by Spanish tradition.

Francis Newton, a young Scot sailed from Gravesend in Britain and arrived in Madeira on September 12th 1745, founding the company.
