In a good dust jacekt withs oem creases and chips. An appealing association copy to another political journalist and commentator, the writer John Gunther: ""To my good friend John Gunther, who is the writer of Fifty Fabulous Books - a few still to come! H. V. Kaltenborn [February?] 1952."" Gunther's ""Inside"" books, which gave a cultural profile of several countries and continents, were very popular, especially ""Inside U. S. A."" He is best known, however, for his heart-wrenching memoir, ""Death Be Not Proud,"" about the decline and death of his son due to a brain tumor. Kaltenborn and Gunther were both popular commentators in their time, and both oriented their focus toward world affairs. Per a finding aid, some correspondence between the two men, as well as notes from an interview conducted by Gunther, is retained at Gunther's archive at the University of Chicago.
